You'd be hard-pressed to find a more challenging way to hone one's photography skills, but it's behind the lens at rock concerts that Tim & Cyndi feel the most "at home," and where they truly excel.
Having photographed countless shows, ranging in size from barely-lit, 200-capacity clubs to outdoor concerts 15,000 people strong, the challenges of concert photography are many. To do it successfully requires not only the ability to capture and convey passion & emotion in a single still frame, but mastery of your equipment and an innate ability to think on your feet, to account for variables such as lighting (often poor), the band's movement onstage (unpredictable at best), vantage point/access, and the cooperation of security/the crowd. |

Promotional photography for musicians is something nearly as challenging as capturing their live performances, albeit for some different reasons. The challenge lies in the need to capture the essence of a group of different individuals while creating an image of them that is striking and commercially viable.
